At Brandon Indigenous Tourism, here in the beating heart of Brandon, we are deeply rooted in community. Our location at the Riverbank Discovery Centre allows us to be in close proximity and contact with Brandon Tourism and the Riverbank Discovery Centre itself which are both non-profit groups dedicated to better serving the community. At the Riverbank location, we are glad to be located away from the urban sprawl and closer to nature which roots and grounds us to mother earth and all of her abundance. Our organization also works closely with BUAPC (Brandon Urban Aboriginal Peoples' Council) which was developed to directly represent and serve the interests of Indigenous Peoples in Brandon. BUAPC is responsible for hosting the widely applauded Truth and Reconciliation Week events which were awarded the Willis award in 2021 for innovation.

Our values at Brandon Indigenous Tourism are rooted in community, education and empowering Indigenous cultural expression. We are a non-profit organization committed to full transparency and will adhere to the most culturally-sensitive practices and methods we can provide. At Brandon Indigenous Tourism, we aim to develop a community, not a commodity.

Our goals are to change perspectives and preserve Indigenous culture, languages and community however we can. We aim to reclaim Indigenous space in history both ancient and modern through providing an Indigenous lens for the public to use. We want to invite others to learn, share and CELEBRATE in Indigenous ways of being, knowing and learning.

Our methods of sourcing information are done as locally as possible, developed with knowledge keepers and elders in the Brandon area. All information provided to you is Indigenous-provided, Indigenous-sourced and Indigenous-evaluated.

Our methods of presenting information to you will vary as we test new exciting and innovative ways of sharing. This summer we will be developing audio tours that will be available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify Podcasts! These will feature different topics about Indigenous history with expectations of providing local historical information about Indigenous culture and history as it has existed on this land. Podcasts will be available to you everywhere, however we envision you walking along our beautiful Riverbank Discovery Centre trails, imagining yourself walking backwards in time.

We will be very active on our social media this summer providing you with high-quality informational reels that will include knowledge and stories sourced from the community, upcoming events and will highlight local Indigenous voices.
Boozhoo!
and Welcome!
